Osteria Figo is a bold reinterpretation of the Italian restaurant, located in the vibrant district of Wyck, Maastricht.

We were invited to design the interior and visual identity, shaping a space where Italian tradition meets a playful, seventies-inspired attitude.

The concept is rooted in contrast. Classic elements are redefined through contemporary materials, custom design and tactile finishes. From the vintage rectangular tiled floor to the deep black lacquered ceiling, every detail is carefully placed to create a setting that feels both intimate and expressive.

Wall-to-wall carpeting softens the acoustics and adds a sense of warmth. High-gloss cream white benches with rounded edges trace calm lines through the room, while a red Verona marble bar anchors the space. Most tables are handcrafted terrazzo, tailored to the layout and finished with precision. Stools from Topos Workshop and Thonet-inspired chairs sit alongside brushed steel shelving, adding a raw edge.

Mirrors and vintage lighting lend subtle tension, referencing the atmosphere of a classic nightclub. The styling draws inspiration from Fiorucci’s vibrant visual world and the energy of Italo disco.

The visual identity flows naturally from the interior. Inspired by Milanese restaurant typography, the logo was reimagined with a lighter, modern touch. The colour palette is clean and timeless, with clear references to Italian culture, seen through a modern lens. Figo’s menu reflects this same mindset. Italian favourites, reworked with clarity and character. A celebration of flavour, rhythm and simplicity.
